Naturopathic, or holistic, osteopathy is a common combined treatment. It focuses on more than diagnosing and treating the structural and mechanical problems of the body related to the spine and back. It lays emphasis on health promotion and prevention of ailments by taking into account patient’s physical make-up, nutritional intake, psycho-social factors and lifestyle issues. This tailor-made package of care also includes self -care advice on dietary intake, relaxation, postural advice, hydrotherapy and specific mobility, stretching and strengthening exercises. Some of the common complaints that patients consult  osteopaths for include back and neck pain, Sciatica, headaches caused by  tension in the neck muscles , ache/pain in the joints (including Frozen shoulder and Tennis elbow where they are associated with back and neck conditions), hip and knee pain from arthritis and minor sports injuries. In addition, BCOM’s clinic can offer advice on nutrition and lifestyle for digestion problems, circulatory problems and prevention of Migraines.
