An introduction to sports taping and clinical taping techniques

The CPD will be delivered by Tom Hewetson, BSc Ost Med, ND, DO, MSc, Clinic Tutor and Lecturer in Musculoskeletal Disorders and Osteopathic Sports Care at BCOM, and osteopath on the Central Medical Team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

   

The learning outcomes would be:

To gain an understanding of the reasons why tape is used (introductory talk)

To gain the ability to differentiate between different types of tape, and when and why one tape is used over another.

To understand the use of taping supplies (adjuncts to taping such as scissors, adhesives, tape remover etc)

To practice a number of taping techniques on a variety of body areas

A CPD certificate for 7 hours will be issued on completion of the course.
