Our clinical tutor Tom Hewetson will be running a highly practical course on Sunday 1st March at BCOM (Lief House, 120-122 Finchley Road NW3 5HR). This course will provide you with the unique opportunity to:
– gain an understanding of the reasons why tape is used
– gain the ability to differentiate between different types of tape, when and why one tape is used over another.
– understand the use of taping supplies (adjuncts to taping such as scissors, adhesives, tape remover etc.)
– practice a number of K-taping techniques on a variety of body areas
The timings of the course is as follows:
09.00 – 09.30 Registration
09.30 – 11.00 Introduction to Taping as a Clinical Adjunct: demonstration of different types of tape and techniques
11.00 – 11.15 Tea
11.15 – 13.00 Taping the back and neck: Acute low back / Sciatica / Trigger Points / Muscle pain / Neck
13.00 – 13.45 Lunch
13.45 – 15.15 Taping the upper limb: Shoulder / Elbow
15.15 – 15.30 Tea
15.30 – 17.00 Taping the lower limb: Knee / Hamstrings / Achilles and calf
The cost of the course is £140 for non students and £100 for students (this includes tea, coffee and biscuits but not lunch).
