Graduation Ceremony 2018

The British College of Osteopathic Medicine’s annual Graduation Ceremony took place on 2 November 2018 at One Park Crescent in London.

All the newly graduating students were joined by their families, friends, BCOM faculty and staff to celebrate their academic achievements. The Guest of Honour Mr Mark Glasson, Faculty Partnership Manager at the University of Plymouth, presented the Degrees to graduands. Prizes for the outstanding students in each year group were presented by Dr Saaid, Head of Anatomy at BCOM.

Dr Kerstin Rolfe, Principal at BCOM, thanked and congratulated all the graduating students in her speech. Dr Rolfe gave recognition to the hard work involved in achieving the Masters in Osteopathy, and the lifelong friendships formed along the way. She said: “Our new graduates have achieved their dream and aspiration over the past four years and today we celebrate their achievements.”

Students graduating with the BSc (Hons) Osteopathy Conversion Course had travelled from Italy to attend the ceremony. They were given special recognition by Dr Rolfe on their commitment and achievements in undertaking the course in a second language.

The Principal honoured the memories of Mr Denis Kiely, Dean Emeritus at BCOM and Mr Leon Chaitow, President of the BCOM Alumni Association who sadly both died earlier this year. She said: “Both have inspired numerous generations of osteopaths over the years and will be missed.”

Dr Rolfe spoke of BCOM’s “exceptionally busy year” achieving a third consecutive successful ‘approval without conditions’ RQ review for quality. The college also underwent a very successful periodic review with the University of Plymouth. She said: “The periodic review picked up what makes BCOM special and that is our community. The way we all work together to make such excellent osteopaths and to maintain the community feel at BCOM.”

We offer our warmest congratulations to all the 2018 BCOM Graduates who received their degrees, graduating with the Masters in Osteopathy (M.Ost), Diploma in Osteopathy (DO), BSc Osteopathic Medicine and BSc (Hons) Osteopathy Conversion Course for Diplomates.
