Alan is an experienced Osteopath, Naturopath, Certified Yoga Teacher, Certified Practitioner of Pilates for Rehabilitation, and Certified CHEK Exercise Coach. He is a graduate of the Cardiff School of Sport (formerly South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education), Leeds University, and the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Human Movement Studies, Master of Arts Degree in Physical Education, Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Physical Education, Naturopathic Diploma (ND) and Diploma in Osteopathy (DO).
Alan has been in clinical osteopathic practice for nearly 30 years since graduating from BCOM in 1991. This includes practising within one of the largest osteopathic clinics in the UK, a private hospital sports injury department, a GP medical practice, and his own private practices in Wales, England, and Sweden. This has involved working alongside many other osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists, sports medicine physicians and physical therapists.
He has lectured Osteopathic Medicine since 1996, at five Osteopathic Institutions in the UK and Scandinavia. He previously taught and lectured Human Movement Studies and Physical Education at the Cardiff School of Sport, and has taught as Principal Educator for Polestar Pilates (UK) rehabilitation series (training osteopaths, chiropractors and physiotherapists in Pilates-Evolved movement forms).
