The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) is seeking to appoint a full-time Admissions officer. Established in 1936, BCOM is one of the leading osteopathic colleges in the UK. It is renowned for its quality in education being awarded ‘approval without conditions’ from the Quality Assurance Agency led ‘Recognised Qualification’ reviews on behalf of the General Osteopathic Council for two consecutive reviews. BCOM’s degree course is validated by Plymouth University. BCOM is particularly regarded for its unique naturopathic approach to osteopathic care in its teaching and within its busy teaching clinic.


We are seeking to recruit a full time Admissions Officer to work closely with the Senior Management and Marketing Department with all aspects of student admissions, student recruitment and related marketing activities leading up to the stage of student enrolment. You will be working on your own initiative as well as part of a team, and will be responsible for the day to day running of the admissions department.

You will be required to update and manage UCAS account, deal with student applications and other queries from applicants and staff; organise, arrange and participate in student interviews, produce decision and interview letters and organise and manage applicant DBS checks; plan, organise, arrange and attend Open Days tours; deal with UK visa and immigration and the legal team; attend marketing and promotional events / conventions and work closely with the marketing team on other admissions related projects; organise and timetable the bridging course; and produce regular admissions status report for the management.
You must be able to demonstrate that you are eligible to work in the UK.


  1. It is essential that you have previous experience of working in an admission environment and an understanding of UCAS operational procedures
  2. You must have a working knowledge and understanding of entry and admission requirements in the UK’s Higher Education sector and the HE admissions cycle
  3. You must have good customer service experience to deal with applicants via various mediums
  4. You must have well developed written and oral communication skills; good presentation, organisational and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in teams
  5. You should have attention to details, the ability to prioritise and work under pressure and work independently with minimum supervision
  6. You should have excellent working knowledge of MS Office package

WORK HOURS / LOCATION – 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday and Friday, in flexible shifts usually between 8:00am – 7.00pm. The work location will be the college premises in London NW3.

Salary will be in the range of £23,000 to £27,000 per annum depending on experience and qualification. Other benefits including pension, life assurance, holidays will be explained in details during the interview.
